Choosing the Right Chef Coat Style for You

With all of the different styles of chef coats available on ChefsCloset.com, it can be pretty tough figuring out exactly which is the one for you. Well, we’re here to help. We chose three different coats to compare, to bring out the differences between some of your options.

Premium Basic Chef Coat ($8.85 to $14.95) Item #: UC8B

One of our most popular coats, the Premium Basic Chef Coat is a perfect basic coat with all the trimmings. You’ll find the durable twill blend fabric is easy to care for, simply wash and wear. Eight pearl buttons line the double-breasted front for a traditional look. Reinforcement via bar tacking at stress points keeps the coat’s seams healthy and ready for movement. Left breast and thermometer pockets keep your tools right where you need them. At such an affordable price, this is an easy choice if you have a large staff to outfit, or if you are just looking for a simple coat with a ton of great features!

Master Chef Coat ($61.95 to $56.95) Item # UC0493EC

The Master Chef Coat is a coat in the mid-price range, chock full of features and offered in a full size stock to meet your needs, or outfit your whole kitchen. It has a 3-piece executive back, showcasing fine workmanship. The short sleeves will keep you cool in the kitchen, and the 100% Egyptian cotton will feel far softer than bulk cotton. In spite of this, the coat is priced reasonably — one reviewer said: “The egyptian cotton coats are listed at such an affordable price – could not resist!.” The additional features of this coat make it hard to resist:

  • 12 hand-rolled buttons, with a hidden neck button
  • Left sleeve thermometer pocket and inset pocket
  • Finished collar
  • Reinforced bar tacking
  • Reversible closure

Trieste Cotton Chef Coat ($105.95 to $100.95) Item # ECRO

Trieste is a city in the Northeast of Italy, home of many castles and operas —a picture of elegance and sophistication, as is this coat. It’s single-breasted and has French cuffs for an open-wristed continental appeal. The Raglan sleeves have a double-needle saddle stitch that makes the appearance seamless. The coat is made of 100% super-combed 120 cotton, which has more of the short cotton fibers removed and gives it a luxurious feel not matched by other fabrics. A single hand-rolled button at the top of the coat is all the fastening you need, leaving this coat to drape magnificently. This is the coat for your most important dinners; your most esteemed guests and customers.

Whatever coat you choose, you have the option of adding customization via embroidery, which we do in-house! Check out the embroidery details here. Happy cooking!
